Andy is one of the founding members and the Managing Director of Virgin StartUp
the not-for-profit organisation, funded by the Branson Family, that exists to empower founders in the UK
to start and scale early-stage businesses. Over the past 10+ years, Virgin StartUp has worked with
tens of thousands of founders, providing over £90m to help more than 6,000 founders start and
scale the businesses they're passionate about. Businesses such as Castore, Change Please, Dash
Water, Hurr, Minor Figures, Mous, Nice, Ocean Bottle, Oddbox, OxWash, Stasher and many more
In doing so, Virgin StartUp have built one of the UK's largest entrepreneurial mentoring networks
with over 650 mentors from some of the biggest businesses and brands.
Prior to helping launch Virgin StartUp in 2013, Andy trained as a Chartered Accountant working at
both PwC and Deloitte, specialising in Venture Capital and Private Equity.
This experience brought
a professional perspective to his passion for entrepreneurship, having had a number of ventures
himself - from Impact Artworks' an online service turning photos into original hand-paintec
canvases, through to 'My Club Mail' - an email service for football fans.
Andy is a passionate believer in the power of entrepreneurship and in helping to level the playing
field for those wanting to embark on their own start up journey.
This comes through in some of
Virgin StartUp's advocacy work, from being signatories to the Better Business Act, through to the
50:50 Pledge (a commitment to support and fund an equal number of men and women - the first
such pledge in the UK), and more recently Empower100 (an accelerator programme designed to
unlock growth and investment potential in underrepresented founders).
Lucy leads the Virgin Group’s brand and consumer strategy team, helping ensure that Virgin continues to delight customers in an ever-changing world.
She is responsible for shaping and overseeing the strategies that connect the Virgin brand with its target audience. Her team plays a critical role in ensuring the brand is compelling and relevant to consumers, helping to drive the company’s growth by understanding how best to leverage consumer behavior and market trends.
Prior to joining the Virgin Group in 2016, Lucy created brand strategies for some of the world’s best loved businesses including the BBC, Sony, Heinz, Marks and Spencer and Stella Artois.
Christine is a partner and head of brand communications at M13, an early-stage technology investing
firm.
Christine started her career on the founding teams of education non-profits (Teach For America,
KIPP Foundation). She worked with Sir Richard Branson to help launch Virgin Group's North
American portfolio and was the first head of communications for Virgin Galactic, Virgin Orbit and
The Spaceship Company. She led brand communications for Larry Page's Kitty Hawk and launched
its first personal EVTOL with CNN and Casey Neistat.
Christine has spent her career navigating uncertainty - and helping brands do the same. She curates
people and ideas to encourage empathetic leadership and has spoken at Museum of Modern Art,
House of Beautiful Business, Teachers College, A.Team and Virgin Voyages.
She is active on boards of KIPP NJ and Virgin Unite USA and Tech: NYC's StartUp NYC initiative.

Nathan joined the Virgin Brand in 2000 and has worked at or supporting an exciting variety of operating companies in Australia, Canada, and the United States. He has helped launch 6 different Virgin entities, from mobile brands to radio stations to festivals to Virgin Unite, and now he's doing it all again at Voyages.
As Chief Brand Officer, he is helping bring the brand's purpose, “An Epic Sea Change for All” to life in the cruise industry by taking the very best of Virgin and bringing it to life across every experience point. As a brand leader, he knows that the brand isn't just a logo or an ad; it is everything and touches every part of the organization.
He also champions the notion that culture is critical to delivering on any brand promise,
and without a strong tether, it will struggle to be distinct.
A career "airline guy", David worked in Canada and the USA with the legendary Sir Freddie Laker's
Laker Airways, before joining Richard Branson in late 1983 to help craft the business plan for what
would become Virgin Atlantic Airways.
The upstart airline began service in June 1984 between London and New York with a single Boeing
747. David spent almost 20 years in New York as Executive Director and Executive Vice President,
building the maverick upstart into a critically acclaimed global carrier.
From 2015-2018. as Executive Chairman, David led Flair Airlines Canada's transition from charter
operator to scheduled ultra-low-cost carrier.
In 2015 David co-founded Connecticut-based Autism Double-Checked, a cloud-based, autism
awareness training platform focused on airlines, hotels and airports.
David is a co-founder and director of BermudAir, a Bermuda-based startup airline out of Bermuda
that commenced scheduled operations in September 2023
In May 2001, at Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth I awarded David an OBE (Officer of the Order
of The British Empire) for "Services to British aviation in the USA".
David is also an award-winning travel columnist and bestselling author.
A native of Glasgow Scotland, David is a long-time Connecticut resident who holds UK, US, and
Canadian citizenships.
Jean is a Collaborations Architect and the founding CEO of Virgin Unite. Over the last 19 years, she has worked with partners to lead the incubation and start-up of several global initiatives, including: The Elders, The B Team, The Carbon War Room, The Africa Donor Collective, Ocean Unite (now ORRAA), The Caribbean Climate Smart Accelerator, 100% Human at Work, and several others.
Jean spent seventeen years helping lead mobile phone companies in South Africa, Colombia, Bulgaria, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and the US. She was the joint CEO of Virgin Mobile in Australia prior to starting Virgin Unite. She co-founded the not-for-profit Plus Wonder to spark more meaningful deep connections and collaborations in the world. She is the author of the new book, Partnering.
Christine is a partner and Head of Brand at M13, an early-stage consumer technology investment firm. Prior to joining M13, she worked with Sir Richard Branson to launch Virgin Group’s North American portfolio and was the first Head of Communications for Virgin Galactic/Virgin Orbit/The Spaceship Company. She was also the Head of Brand/Communications for Kitty Hawk, Larry Page's EVTOL portfolio. Christine graduated from Williams College and was a member of the founding teams of Teach For America and KIPP Foundation. She serves on the boards of KIPP NJ and Virgin Unite US.
As Chief of Staff and Head of Corporate Development, Andrew oversees strategy, business transformation, corporate development and strategic alliances at Virgin Pulse. Prior to this role, he held, senior sales, marketing and general management positions at Virgin Pulse and has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the SaaS/software industry. Andrew received a PhD in Information System from City University London, a MS from Drexel University and a BBA from Temple University.
